2PM is legendary on first day of Tokyo Dome concert

The boys of 2PM debuted in Japan back on May 2011 with their debut Japanese single, “Take Off“. For most groups, it’s a lengthy journey before they can perform at the famed Tokyo Dome, but like the namesake of their debut single, 2PM took off quickly in the land of the rising sun and they had the privilege of performing shortly before their 2nd year anniversary.
On April 20th, 2PM held the first of their two night “Legend of 2PM in Tokyo Dome” concert. The boys put on a legendary show for nearly four hours as they performed a set list that included 38 songs, if you include the encore they performed 40 songs in all. Although this was a great and wonderful gift for fans, the Japanese Hottest also had their own present in store for 2PM.
As a special gift, the Japanese Hottest presented 2PM with the Rainbow Ocean, where in a coordinated effort they filled the Tokyo Dome with rainbow colors (for the individual members and the group) using their glowsticks. This brought tears of joy to both 2PM and the fans.
The second day of the concert will be held on the 21st and an estimated 110,000 fans will attend both days of the concert.

2PM chooses Shinhwa as their role model

2PM chose Shinhwa as their role model!
2PM is already one of the longer running idol groups, as they’re entering their 6th year in 2013. The boys had a press conference before their Tokyo Dome concert, and they talked about the past 5 years as 2PM. Taecyeon said, “People say that an idol group that lasts for more than 5 years is long lasting. I think that the Tokyo Dome is another start. This concert also allowed us to look back into our past. I want to call it a new start that tells us which direction to go.
Jun.K added, “After our debut, we had good things, and not so good things. But when we had bad things, we were able to become closer. We come together now thinking of one another as family. It’s not like we never have conflicting opinions, so we set up a rule. If we don’t agree with someone’s opinions, then we get together to talk and solve it. We’ve been doing that.
Wooyoung continued, “Our teamwork now is better than ever. If we have something we’re disappointed in, we try to fix it right away. We love Shinhwa sunbaenim, the long-running idol. They’re our role model. We’re going to do our best for a long time and fulfill our own dreams.
Jun.K concluded, “There’s something I want to say. We were only able to promote in Japan like this because sunbaes such as BoATVXQ, and Rain paved the road for us. We want to thank them first.
The Tokyo Dome concert on the 20th and 21st were the boys’ last overseas promotions before their comeback in mid-May.

2PM’s Nichkhun sheds tears as he talks about his DUI incident

2PM‘s Nichkhun reflected back on his DUI incident and shed tears.
On April 21, 2PM held a press conference for their ‘Legend of 2PM in Tokyo Dome‘ concert. At the press conference, Nichkhun apologized and stated, I had a lot of thoughts during my hiatus. I realized what I did was very wrong. Anyone can make a mistake, but making the same mistakes repeatedly is wrong. I really wanted to see my Korean fans. What I did was very stupid and I will make sure that it never happens again. I’m going to work hard to meet Korean fans.
During the concert, he also apologized to fans and shed tears. Onstage he began with, “You must have had a hard time because of me“, but then had a hard time speaking because of his tears. He managed, “I’m so thankful that you still believe and love me. When I go back to Korea, I’ll give back by working hard and having a great comeback. I love you.
2PM performed in front of 110,000 fans for their two day concert and they’re scheduled to make a Korean comeback next month.

2PM’s Junho states he wouldn’t reveal his relationship to the public

2PM talked about various things before their Tokyo Dome concert.
At the press conference on April 21 before the concert, the boys said, “For the past two years, we had no Korean promotions. We’re planning to release our 3rd album soon, and we’re planning to have a lot of Korean activities.” Jun.K added, “We’re so sorry to our Korean fans. We talked for a long time about our image and performance since we’re having a comeback after 2 years. We want to be more relaxed on stage this time. We’re going to be more mature and masculine for this album.
The topic of publicly dating was also brought up and Junho said, “No matter if you’re an idol star or not, dating is based on a person’s own heart, so I think it’s good to take care of it yourself. To be honest, I don’t really know. It’s been a while since I dated. I think now, idol stars are able to reveal their relationships more freely now. But in my case, even if I get a girlfriend, I wouldn’t reveal it publicly.

2PM Says It Will Work Hard to Act as Ambassador of Peace in Japan

Before its Legend of 2PM in Tokyo Dome concert, held on April 21, the members held a press conference and talked about their plans for world peace.

Taecyeon said, "There have always been small anti-Korea movements, and I think it′s all due to cultural differences. It seems the different opinions and misunderstandings led to such sentiments."

He added, "We hope 2PM′s promotions will help bridge the gap between the two cultures. Those who like 2PM will be able to understand Korean culture more, and their knowledge may be passed down to their children and grandchildren. Through such processes, 2PM may help in lessening anti-Korea opinions. We′ll work harder thinking that we can become ambassadors of peace."

2PM held its Tokyo Dome concert with 110,000 fans on April 20 and 21.

The members then said in thanks, "We′ve dreamed of singing at the Tokyo Dome since our debut in Japan. We can′t take our eyes off of the 110,000 fans before us. We are so thankful and happy. We want to dedicate this honor to our Hottests (2PM′s fan club), who always support 2PM. We′ll run harder and do our best."

Nichkhun also voiced his own thanks in tears as he apologized for the drunk driving incident he was involved in last year.

Photo from 2PM’s Tokyo Dome concert press release is photoshopped?

Netizens have taken a second glance at the photos revealed through a press release regarding 2PM‘s recent Tokyo Dome concert, spotting some bad editing.
The above photo was the one that caught eyes and is actually one of the several photos sent to the media through a press release by JYP Entertainment. The photo shows the different levels of seating at the Tokyo Dome packed with fans.
At first glance, it’s hard to spot the photoshop job by just looking at the top 3 levels, but when looking at the floor level, it’s easy to see the same scene repeated at least twice.
Spotting this, a post was made on a popular online community board, in which netizens commented,“This is absurd”, “If you were going to photoshop, at least do it well”“Are they supposed to bedoppelgangers. Ah, hilarious”, “It’s obvious that the photos are edited”, and more.
However, it’s not clear why the photoshopping was necessary in the first place as fancams and fan-taken shots show that the large venue was very packed with eager fans who had been waiting to see the boys live at the prestigious Tokyo Dome.

JYP Entertainment apologizes for the edited photo from 2PM’s Tokyo Dome concert

JYP Entertainment has come forward to apologize for the badly edited photo from 2PM‘s recent Tokyo Dome concert which they shared through a press release.
The agency stated through an official statement, “Regarding the photo in the press release of our agency artists 2PM’s Tokyo Dome concert, it was a mistake on the agency’s part and we apologize. The majority of the agency staff were present at the concert, and since the time was tight for sending the press release to media outlets, we had an outside company color correct the photos. The error in the photo wasn’t spotted during this time and it was added to our official press release.”
They also added, “The audience count has been confirmed by the concert production company and venue, and the media outlets that were present at the concert also confirmed it. However, regardless of the reason, we apologize once again to the media representatives who experienced inconvenience due to the faulty photo as well as to 2PM’s fans who had enjoyed the concert with a joyful heart. We will be more careful with our press releases in the future and will work hard to not let the same mistake happen again.”
