2PM HANAKO 2013 FEB INTERVIEW

Junho

This year he will make a big screen début in a Korean movie “Stake Out”. He’s also directly involved in composing; with a newly written song “This is Love” included in LEGEND OF 2PM. “It’s a song that you want to listen to at a full volume while taking a drive.”

I want to always keep track even of every single person’s facial expression.
-          Together with Khun, you two give away a mature feeling.
Really? I’m glad to hear that.
-          Personally, what do you think has changed?
Nothing special. Although starting from some point I’ve realized that everyone and everything around me is special. Perhaps that’s why it is so.
-          Do you have a sign that spells for a happy day?
My spirits lift up if I manage to put on my shoes at once in the morning, when I need to go out. (laughs).
-          Tell us your way to enjoy travelling.
Actually, I’d like to enjoy walking up and down a street, but it’s disappointing to just always walk past things merely after having looked at the windows. Instead of that, I simply climb up a roof to get some air and to refresh myself.
-          What are you absorbed into right now?
Composing. Whether I’m at piano or with a guitar, depending on my feelings, I’m writing a few songs just as the thoughts come surging in.
-          The way you look at the audience sitting far away from you during a concert is impressive.
It’s because I don’t want to miss out a single person. What they are happy with, how they are enjoying themselves. I want to keep track of every single facial expression. Also, whose fan they are holding as well. Haha, just kidding. (laughs)
-          You’re having a concert at Tokyo Dome. It’s a huge stage of your dreams, aren’t you anxious about it?
Absolutely not! I’m pleased to be able to spend time with so many people, and I think that our hearts will be full once we get engulfed by their cheers. Please look forward to it!

Taecyeon

Began composing last year. His self-composed “Kimi Dake Ni” is included in LEGEND OF 2PM Limited Edition Version B. “Currently I have a stock of about 20 songs. There are times when no melody comes to my mind as well.”

Future is something that we build ourselves instead of leaving it for the fate.
-          Last year you kept on changing your hairstyle frequently, why so?
Because it was interesting to see fans’ reactions (laughs).
-          When do you feel that it’s really fun that the 6 of you are together?
It’s always fun, but since the 6 of us are always together, I consider the time on my own rather special as well.
-          What do you think of when you’re alone in your room?
Usually, I think about the stage. But when I’m relaxing, I’m indifferent to everything. I’m trying not to think about anything.
-          Why don’t you believe in fate?
Because I think that we build our future ourselves. I am the answer.
-          You don’t believe in fateful meeting as well?
I do long for such a romantic meeting, but… if I do fall crazily in love, I will try believing in fate (laughs).
-          Let us know about this year’s 2PM.
We’re trying as hard as we can, and our current teamwork is the best so far. It’s because since our début we have been through many good things and also have overcome a lot of hardships together.
-          We’ve heard you take bicycle rides on your own around Seoul downtown. There are many things that should help you feel the freedom, but do you have a strong desire to be free?
Rather than using the word “freedom”, I just don’t think that I always have to be mysterious because I’m a celebrity, and I don’t think that a celebrity should be all stuck up. It’s because I’m an ordinary human being just like everybody else.

Nichkhun

Last year took part in his native Thailand’s movie “Seven Something”. Active as an actor as well. “As far as acting is concerned, I’m still not satisfied that I had few opportunities to do that. In the future, I’d like to take part in many movies, playing various different characters.”

When I don’t have courage, the five give me strength.
-          What do you think at night, when a live performance is over?
I’m reflecting on that day, and I am thinking about what I should do next for the fans to be happy.
-          Do you have a kind of a spell that makes you happy?
There’s nothing special. I think that if I work hard myself, everything will turn out well in the end. But perhaps I do care about the weather, I suppose. If the day is bright, but chilly, the feeling’s great.
-          Tell us about you first self-composed song “Let it Rain”.
The song is written while thinking about the fans. I’ve always been really thankful to them, but there was no chance before… I put my heart into it.
-          What do you think about your voice?
I’m not confident about it. It’s still lacking in so many ways.
-          What is Tokyo for Nichkhun?
It’s a place that I got used to living at, that gives me a feeling of being at home.
-          We do realize they are precious, but what are the members to you?
Good friends and good rivals. When I run out of courage about doing something, the five give me a push in the back with “Nichkhun, just try” and I can do it. They also become my motivation, because whenever I succeed, I want to tell them about it.
-          Are you going to continue composing?
I want to. Actually, I’m jealous of Jun. K and Junho all of the time. The six of us sing songs that they composed themselves, and the compositions receive so much love from the fans. One of these days, I’d like to experience this sentiment as well.
Jun. K

This spring challenging musical for the first time, playing D’Artagnan in “The Three Musketeers”. “I think about many things at a hotel. My family, 2PM, my next song, and also about such things as when I will ever get married (laughs).”

I want to create music that reaches out to many people’s hearts in Japan.

-          Do you have any kind of happy spell?
For example, I count when there’s a closed door in front of me. If it opens within 4 seconds, I think that something good will happen. I wait for it to open counting 4, 3, 2, 1. Is it a bit too cheap? But well, it’s because I want to spend a happy day.
-          Let us know a key to friendly personality.
First of all, you have to change your mind from the very basis! You have to be thankful for everything. Because I’m grateful for this water in front of me right now as well.
-          What are you absorbed into right now?
Composing. Thinking of what style of a song I should write.
-          It’s always the music for you.
Music is always by my side. Life is music.
-          During composing, when is it that your feelings build up the most?
Would it be the moment when I listen inside a car to the melody I recorded right when it suddenly came to me? Because I’m happy that yet another new piece of music is born. Also, when that song is released, and when that song is well received. There’s no end to it (laughs).
-          When do you feel that it’s really fun that the 6 of you are together?
Always. As time goes by that feeling gets deeper and deeper.
-          What would be your objective 2PM’s music-wise?
I want to get closer to the Japanese listeners through music. I want to live on writing music that is loved by people and that could be listened to by anyone, eliciting such reaction as “Ah, this song’s good.”

JUN. K’s Poem:
Tonight I become waning moon full of longing
And I hover in the clouds looking for you.
You come into view dimly
And I hesitate outside the window.
I put all of my strength into making the faint moonlight brighter.
You do not seem to know yet.
That I am drawing your shadow.
I am jealous of the wispy wind
That freely comes and goes around you.
The wind carelessly brings forth your scent
And I am slowly drinking it in deep gulps.
You do not seem to know yet.
That my heartbeat soars at your scent.
In case darkness descents at your side
And you need a place to lean upon at t
You can come to my side and take a short rest before you go.
I want to always be your moonlight in darkness.
Today once again I am illuminating your heart with radiant moonlight.

Wooyoung

Debuted solo with “SEXY LADY” in Korea last year. Says he began composing as well. “When you really try writing a song, it’s really hard; there are times when I lose confidence too. But if you go until the very end, you find pleasure and can develop further.”

I want to go on expressing it in my own language in the future.

-          What is the most comfortable place in a room?
Obviously, bed is quite comfortable, but for me the writing desk is very precious. It’s a table that I use not only for a computer, but also to put and spread out things, or to study.
-          What is the reason for being so unwavering?
I think it’s because I have a passion and greed to create good performance, and I also don’t want to lose to myself. Rather than wanting to spend my life differently from others, I just don’t want to spend it in a comfortable way all of the time. I want to put a lot of effort into pushing myself to go places that can improve me.
-          When did you start thinking that way?
When I thought I’d like to become a singer – when I was around 15 years old.
-          Wooyoung has a reputation of being perpetually cute. What do you consider cute yourself?
Children. Around 4 or 5-year-old kids. I really like children.
-          Looking after them as well?
Especially. Because I have a lot of very young relatives, so whenever it’s Chuseok or the Lunar New Year, it’s always me who ends up looking after them.
-          What is Tokyo to Wooyoung?
It’s a place that does not differ from Korea much; I can relax there, with many good cafes and interesting places and sites I began to frequent quite often.
-          Tell us about your future goals.
Expressing my story through music. I want to express it in my own language in the future.

Chansung

Acts as a genius national security officer Gong Doha in a currently airing Korean drama “Level 7 Civil Servant”. Busy every day with filming and the tour. “But once I meet the fans who have been waiting for us, I forget that I’m tired immediately.”

I think there are points to learn from anything that happens.
-         Do you have a kind of a happy spell?
I don’t. Because I originally have a bright and positive personality. On top of that, I think there are points to learn from anything that happens. So that way I have developed a habit of turning a bad memory into a good one.
-         With that kind of habit there’s nothing left to fear then.
Also, I’m able to spend a day well by smiling often.
-          When do you feel that it’s really fun that the 6 of you are together?
Always. Since we’re always together, sad things get divided in half, good things multiply immediately. Whenever the 6 of us are together, there is this effect of increase.
-          You’re an honest hard-worker, but you also display really sexy performances on stage. Which one is the real Chansung?
Hahaha. All of it is me! However, I want to show a different side of me in the future as well. Shall I seal off the sexy little by little? (laughs)
-          When do you realize that you are abroad when you are travelling?
When I’m having a meal, or snacks, or eating the fruit. I also notice that from the presents that we get from the fans.
-          How do you spend the nights at a hotel?
Thinking of what I have enjoyed, or reflecting upon what was lacking that day. Also, I’m reading a fiction book before sleep. From there I start daydreaming and fantasizing, thoughts are coming one after another… and eventually I fall asleep. (laughs)
